England is apparently launching two pilot programs for women to obtain birth control without a prescription. The article below talks about how that makes these programs will make b.c. more accessible, yet could cause problems as in people not knowing about possible medical conditions/side effects from taking the pill. While I do agree that b.c. should be more readily accessible, this program once again places the emphasis on the pill as the only option. This is still not getting to the crux of this issue though. People need to be more knowledgeable about birth control alternatives in order to make an educated decision on what is best for them as an individual--education is key! Ultimately, this is still good in the sense of women not being belabored by getting prescriptions, etc.
